Propagation History
In 2005 we opened our new purpose built propagation facility, housing a 500m2 hi-tech mist unit.
Six dedicated, experienced and highly skilled full-time staff propagate over 400 varieties of plants. They are assisted by up to twelve seasonal team members.
In a twelve month period over 800,000 plants are propagated in this unit, from cuttings, grafts, seed and splits. Of the final plants sold by Bransford Webbs, 70% are propagated here at the nursery.
Liner Unit
Young plants are potted into liners using a potting machine within the propagation unit, and transferred to the adjacent liner unit. The liner unit consists of 4000m2 of Efford Sand Beds and 2500m2 of beds with overhead irrigation.
Prop Environment
The propagation and liner unit is controlled by a computerised environmental control system to provide the optimum environment. Integrated Crop Management is operated throughout the unit utilising cultural and biological controls and minimising pesticide usage. This facility can hold up to 500,000 liners at one time, and can produce up to 1,300,000 in a year at full capacity.
